Governing Council meeting of the Borrowers' Platform 8
The Borrowers’ Platform, launched in April 2026 by developing countries and UN Secretary General, is entering its first annual cycle. The lack of an institutionalized cooperation mechanism for borrowers is the gap that international financial architecture has long carried, and that UN Member States, through the Sevilla Commitment, resolved to close. The Borrowers’ Platform addresses this gap and the existing knowledge asymmetries by providing a dedicated space for borrowers to learn from each other and build a long-term knowledge hub. The meeting took place October 12th 2026, 14:00-17:000 in the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in conference room 3.
