Group of 77 and China – Handover – 28 January 2025

Photo credit: UN Trade and Development/ William Albors The Group of 77 and China – Handover Ceremony took place on Tuesday, 28 January 2025, in Room XVII at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. This significant event marked the official transfer of the Chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China. During the ceremony, the Kingdom of Cambodia, represented by H.E. Prasith Suon, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, handed over the leadership to the Republic of Peru. The new Chairmanship was accepted by Mr. Cristobal Melgar, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Peru, signifying a continued commitment to fostering multilateral cooperation among developing nations.
