The SBBC brings together leading companies, experts, and thought leaders to integrate social and environmental responsibility into business strategies and to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. In collaboration with the United Nations, with UNCTAD serving as Secretariat of the UN Forum on Sustainability Standards, the Dialogue focused on the role of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) in promoting sustainable international trade. Discussions explored how VSS can encourage sustainable production, improve market access, and support brand development, with UNCTAD providing technical and policy guidance. The Dialogue aimed to strengthen cooperation between Chinese enterprises and international partners, enhance understanding of sustainability standards, and generate practical recommendations for integrating sustainability into business and trade practices. The event also marked the delivery of a voluntary commitment by businesses to promote more sustainable practices.
