UNCTAD SG Rebeca Grynspan at the Historic Site of the First UN General Assembly
UN Trade and Development Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan stands on Tothill Street / Storey’s Gate in Westminster, London, near Westminster Abbey and the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre. Behind her is the commemorative plaque marking the Methodist Central Hall, where the very first United Nations General Assembly met from 10 January to 14 February 1946. The plaque reads: “To the glory of God and in prayer for peace on Earth this tablet commemorates the first meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations in the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster Jan. 10 – Feb. 14 1946."
