SG Rebeca Grynspan at High-Level Event on “Multilateralism 2.0” in Geneva
UN Trade and Development Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan participates in a high-level event organized by the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in Geneva, focused on rethinking global cooperation in an era of heightened geopolitical tensions, financial constraints and competing narratives. Building on Geneva’s unique multilateral ecosystem and the momentum of the UN80 reform, the discussion explores how multilateralism can adapt to remain effective, agile and impactful. The event examines risks and opportunities for global cooperation, highlighting the role of innovation, new funding models and strategic partnerships in delivering global public goods despite constrained resources, and outlining priorities for “Multilateralism 2.0.” The meeting opened with remarks by Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation in 2026 and Head of the Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.
