10th anniversary of the eTrade for all i

On 8 July 2026 in Geneva, UN Trade and Development Acting Secretary-General Pedro Manuel Moreno delivered opening remarks at the high-level dialogue marking the 10th anniversary of the eTrade for all initiative, held under the theme “A Decade of Partnership and Connecting the Dots for an Inclusive Digital Economy.” Launched in 2016 at UNCTAD’s 14th Ministerial Conference in Nairobi, the UNCTAD-led partnership has grown from 15 to 35 partner organizations, supporting developing countries, especially least developed countries, in benefiting from e-commerce and the digital economy. The event reflected on a decade of collaboration, including the eTrade Readiness Assessments and the eTrade for Women initiative, and looked ahead to strengthening partnerships for a more inclusive digital economy. Speakers included Pedro Manuel Moreno, Acting Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development; H.E. Ms. Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs of Estonia; H.E. Mr. Kim Min-Jae, Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea; H.E. Mrs. Fancy Too, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Kenya to the United Nations in Geneva; Ms. Rashmi José, Senior Policy Advisor at the International Institute for Sustainable Development; a representative of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia; H.E. Mr. Prasith Suon, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the WTO and other international organizations in Geneva; and H.E. Mr. Erwin Bollinger, Ambassador, Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the WTO and EFTA. Photo credit: UN Trade and Development/Yu Gyeong Shin.
