Pedro Manuel Moreno speaks at UNIDO event on AI and inclusive digital economy
2 September 2025 — Pedro Manuel Moreno, Deputy Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), was a key speaker at the UNIDO side event “AI as a Game Changer — Private Sector Innovation for an Inclusive Digital Economy”. The closing session of the Digital Cooperation Day, organized by the Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET), highlighted how innovative AI solutions from the private sector can expand inclusion and access to the digital economy, transform industries, and help bridge the global digital divide. The event also presented contributions to Objective 2 of the Global Digital Compact, including the announcement of the winners of the Global Call for Solutions, and showcased the impact of public–private partnerships in emerging technologies.
