Rebeca Grynspan joins women leaders at Africa-Europe Foundation event ahead of 7th AU-EU Summit

21 September 2025 — Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), participated at the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, New York, in a high-level gathering convened by the Africa-Europe Foundation. The opening was led by Honorary Co-Presidents Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Mary Robinson, with perspectives shared by women leaders including UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security Bineta Diop. The opening panel focused on the upcoming 7th AU-EU Summit as a milestone for the Africa-Europe Women Leaders Network, highlighting cooperation on peace and security, economic integration, trade, multilateralism, green development, digitalisation, migration, mobility, and human development.
