UNCTAD SG Rebeca Grynspan at UCL IIPP Discussion on the Trade and Development Report 2025
UN Trade and Development Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan joins Professor Mariana Mazzucato at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) to discuss the key findings of the Trade and Development Report 2025: On the Brink — Trade, Finance and the Reshaping of the Global Economy. Their conversation highlights how trade, industrial policy and finance are becoming increasingly interlinked, and what this means for economic governance, financial stability and the prospects of developing countries amid rising fragmentation. SG Grynspan emphasized that the world is “not on the brink of collapse, but on the brink of a choice,” calling for coordinated reforms to make the global economy more stable, predictable and development-centered.
