UNCTAD SG Rebeca Grynspan at Doha Forum 2025

UN Trade and Development Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan takes part in the Doha Forum 2025, joining the high-level session “Shockwaves and Safety Nets: Rethinking Trade in the Age of Disruption.” Held on 6–7 December under the banner Diplomacy, Dialogue and Diversity, the Forum brings together global leaders to explore how trade governance must adapt to an era of volatility, fragmented markets and rapid technological change. The panel featured: • H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance, Republic of Türkiye • Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) • H.E. Dr. Ahmad Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, State of Qatar • Jared Cohen, President of Global Affairs and Co-Head of the Goldman Sachs Global Institute, Goldman Sachs • H.E. Børge Brende, President and CEO, World Economic Forum (Moderator) The discussion explored the deep interconnections of today’s global markets, the growing exposure to economic shocks, and the opportunities emerging from services and digital trade. Speakers addressed how the international community can rethink trade cooperation to seize new opportunities while supporting those most affected by disruption.
