Entrepreneurship for Migrants and Refugees

Refugee entrepreneurs making ‘brickettes’ in Rwamwanja refugee settlement, Uganda. They help conserve the environment and are 85 per cent less expensive than charcoal. UNCTAD, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) opened a photo exhibit in Geneva, Switzerland, on 18 November 2019 to show how migrant and refugee entrepreneurs contribute to the economic and social development of their host and origin countries. The exhibit was organized as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019 and the photos were displayed in the Palais des Nations.
