Myanmar Rapid eTrade Readiness Assessment (30 Oct 2018)

The Ministry of Commerce and UNCTAD will jointly launch the Rapid eTrade Readiness Assessment for Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw on 30 October 2018. The national launch will be followed by a donor roundtable with participation from the European Union, World Bank, Universal Postal Union, International Trade Centre, USAID, GIZ, DFID and the Governments of Finland and Japan. The event will be co-chaired by the His Excellency Mr. U Aung Htoo, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Ms. Shamika Sirimanne, Director, Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD. The Rapid eTrade Readiness Assessment for Myanmar identifies concrete policy actions the Government could take to strengthen the enabling environment for e-commerce. This event will bring together development partners and donors who can support these recommended actions with financial and technical support. Matching potential donors with the relevant ministry or department will help avoid duplication of efforts and lead to more transparent coordination. eTrade for all: unctad.org/en/Pages/DTL/STI_and_ICTs/eTrade-for-All.aspx
